While you wait for The Langham Huntington, Pasadena to open The Royce, perhaps you’d like a drink? We direct you to the hotel’s new bar, The Tap Room, opening tomorrow. A press release tells us that the space is named after this property’s first bar, which opened shortly after Prohibition. Johnson Studios is preserving the room’s historic heart with the inclusion of mahogany panels and pillars, pl,us other additions like a fireside “living room” of couches and a garden-view patio lounge overlooking San Marino. And what’s to drink and eat?

In addition to a full bar, handmade cocktails with fresh ingredients, and a list of wines from all corners, there will be a tight selection of great brews on tap like Rasputin, Old Speckled Hen, and Chimay White. Eats will easily recognized upscale bar food like the “Kobe” beef slider (this guy is everywhere!), lobster corn dogs, buffalo rings, and sausage panini. Anyway, that should be enough to tide you over before chef David Féau arrives in mid-October.

The Tap Room, at The Langham Hungtinton Pasadena, 1401 S. Oak Knoll Ave. Pasadena. 626-568-3900.
