A veto-proof majority of City Council members (but still not Bloomberg or Christine Quinn) support the paid sick leave bill; now a new study cited in The Wall Street Journal shows that only 12 percent of New York’s workforce doesn’t get paid sick leave (proof that “there is no big crisis, no big problem,” argues the State Restaurant Association) and payroll costs would rise 0.71 percent for restaurants.
