A new fast-casual eatery looks just about ready to open in the former home of El Segundo Sandwich and Grill. The space was sold about four months ago and will become Stix and Straws, which promises “stick food and drink” and has an adorable porcupine mascot on its signage. Whether this means food that comes on a stick (corndogs, popsicles, etc.) or food you eat with chopsticks is still up for grabs. We’re guessing noodles and boba for now, or something resembling the fizzling Pick-Up Stix chain, which still has a location in Hermosa Beach. The business looks just about set to open, with complete signage and construction, so stay tuned for an update.
