Providence Pairs With Craggy Range Tonight

Photo: Craggy Range

In a well-suited match, Steve Smith, founder and winemaker at New Zealand’s Craggy Range, will pair his wines with a five-course tasting menu at Providence tonight. Decanter Magazine named Smith one of the 50 most influential people to watch in wine-making and is known for his riesling and sauvignon blanc, making Providence an ideal partner to showcase the wine’s way with seafood. While Smith tells tales behind each varietal and answers diner’s questions, the $125 five-course menu will include kanpachi tartar with preserved cherry blossom to start, along with subsequent plates like vaudovan scallops, cooked and raw porcini risotto with PX sherry reduction, and striped sea bass with pork belly, braised endive, and “celebrity tomatoes.” Dinner starts at 7:00 P.M. with reservations available at Providence at 323-460-4170. See the full menu below.
