Lolita Readies ‘Thick and Throbbing’ Atmosphere in Back Bay

Lolita Cucina and Tequila Bar will open late this fall in the former home of Papa Razzi at 271 Dartmouth Street, reportsThe Newbury Line. This will be the first Massachusetts location for the Mexican restaurant, which already boasts a branch in Greenwich, Connecticut. The focus here is on upscale Mexican food and drink. Per The Newbury Line, Lolita’s atmosphere is “so thick and throbbing it is enticing enough alone.” Question: if you were writing about a restaurant named after a book about statutory rape, would you have made that particular word choice? All linguistic quibbles aside, Lolita looks like a solid choice for those craving fancy Mexican (not Tex-Mex) food: something that’s currently lacking in Back Bay.
