The ‘corporate chef’ role at the Daniel Patterson Group that was to belong to Jeremy Fox — before Fox backed out to pursue his own projects — will now be taken on by Ron Boyd, former chef de cuisine at Aqua and a 2005 Chron Rising Star. As the Chron reports today, Boyd will be “managing” things at Plum (2214 Broadway, Oakland), Il Cane Rosso, the restaurant group’s garden, and the upcoming Bracina, freeing up Patterson himself to concentrate on Coi.

From what we understood from earlier talks with Patterson, the menu at Bracina (to open by winter in Oakland’s Jack London Square) will be primarily chef Lauren Kiino’s responsibility, so Boyd will likely be taking the lead on the menu at Plum, which is now set to open in a few weeks. And as Grub Street reported yesterday, the other new addition to the team is pastry chef Deanie Hickox, a.k.a. Deanie Fox, who’ll be lending a hand to executive pastry chef Bill Corbett. We’re starting to wish we had a flow chart.
