What to Eat at Darryl’s Corner Bar & Kitchen, Bringing Late Night Burgers to the South End

Daryl’s Corner Bar & Kitchen opens tonight and we’ve got a sneak peek at the menu. The restaurant’s space hasn’t had the best track record of late (Circles and The Stork Club each lasted less than a year), but fortunately, Darryl’s owner Darryl Settles is the man behind Bob’s Southern Bistro, which occupied the space successfully for over fifteen years. Tim Partridge, formerly of everywhere from Ten Tables to Bouchee, is helming the kitchen and, while Bob’s glorifried chicken (RIP) isn’t on the menu, everything from steak tips to semolina fried chicken is present and accounted for. Weekends bring a brunch featuring standards like challah french toast and corned beef hash, and from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m., there’s a burger bar, featuring patties topped with everything from kimchi to crispy pancetta. There’s also a very nice cocktail selection.
