Without much further anticipation (it’s hot enough out there), we have our winner for two tickets to L.A. Times Celebration of Food and Wine, being held September 5th on Paramount’s back-lot. We asked our readers who they felt deserved to attend the event with them and received a record-number of contest-entries at Grubstreet L.A. With noble tales of tried-and-true friends and lovers helping each other climb Mount Whitney, add an extra dimension to their booties, or take each other out to LudoBites and The Bazaar, who did our editors pick as the ultimate winner?
The two tickets go to Rachael N. (of Chicks With Knives) who brought smiles to many a Grub Street editors’ face with this answer:
“Justin Bieber. Now, we’ve never met, and I’m no fan, but I think if he were my date (you can arrange that, right?) he’d draw attention away from the booths I want to go to, shortening the lines and making my day even more wonderful. But that’s not the only reason! He would also enrich the lives of all the other attendees with his smile! So, I hope I win your contest and a date with JB. If you can’t arrange that, I’ll bring Suzanne. She’s cute, skinny as hell and could use a good meal.”
