How could anyone not root for TiGeorges Chicken owner George LaGuerre after his esteemed Echo Park restaurant caught fire last February during efforts to raise funds for earthquake-ravaged Haiti? Feast reports that the landlord is still dragging his bounda on making any repairs to the building, but fortunately for LaGuerre supporters, the chef is popping up elsewhere. The chef started cooking yesterday at Caveman Kitchen, an a la brasa rotisserie restaurant in West Adams that LaGuerre helped inspire, where he’s preparing goat and chicken and bolstering the catering division. Also, in an effort to expose more people to TiGeorges and get the business pumping again, LaGuerre will be at new pop-up hot zone Test Kitchen on September 5th and 6th. Here’s hoping it brings back TiGeorges for good!
