Finally, the heat has broken and it looks like the weekend will deliver some weather that’s perfect for sipping summery Saisons at Johnny Brenda’s Saison Brunch tomorrow. The special brunch will feature a traditional spread highlighted by a selection of French country specialties, like charcuterie and artisan fromage and more. The draught list boasts ten craft beers representing Saison and Farmhouse ale styles, including PBC’s Pharmhouse Arrest, Yards Saison, the funky Victory Helios and Dock Street’s Saison du Potts. • Tonight at the Art Museum (aka Philadelphia Museum of Art), Art After 5 will feature Cuban Jazz with Elio Villafranca, plus cocktails, elegant café-style appetizers and table service in the Great Stair Hall, which will transformed into a cabaret. Stephen Starr’s Events division has reconfigured the museum’s cafe to evoke a the feeling of a French market, which is open all weekend and offers a selection of cocktails inspired by current exhibitions. • Over at the Institute, the kitchen staff has teamed up with Brauhaus Schmitz’s crew to collaborate on what they’re calling the Sausage Factory, a sausage and rauchbier pairing taking place Saturday. Smokey rauchbiers from brewers like Furthermore, Stone and Victory will served with a selection of sausages and side dishes.
• On Sunday some of the more artistically inclined members of the Morimoto staff will host an opening of their collected works at the James Oliver Gallery (directly above the restaurant), from 6 to 9 p.m. All works on display will be available for sale, and Morimoto will provide complimentary food. The exhibit runs through August 22.
