Playa Vista is a small village that almost feels separate from the city. No doubt its residents really need a sushi restaurant before declaring complete independence. That wish will be granted with the forthcoming opening of Sweet Fish Sushi Bar. The restaurant is currently under construction on Pacific Promenade, with an application registered for its beer and liquor license back in February. According to Visit-Toyama, sweetfish sushi in the city of Toyama once preceded the popularity of the sushi we know and obsess over today. Chances are, with the remote locale, the owners aren’t exploring the ancient art of preserving ayu, so much as catching onto a clever name. Hopefully, they don’t also catch the ire of SugarFish shogun Kazunori Nozawa.
Sweet Fish Sushi Bar, coming soon to 13020 Pacific Promenade #8, Playa Vista.
