Farm to City, the pioneering business that paved the way for the city’s now thriving neighborhood farmers markets and CSAs, is going back to its roots at the Reading Terminal Market, according to Bob Libkind’s Robert’s Market Report. Farm to City originally spun out of a partnership formed by the market and what is now the Food Trust back in 1992. Founder Bob Pierson left Food Trust in 2002 to form Farm to City. Under the new arrangement, Farm to City’s “ready-made pipeline to the farming community” will ensure that Reading Terminal Market will continue to thrive as the ultimate source of locally grown and produced goods. Farm to City also benefits from the deal by gaining Reading Terminal Market’s brand recognition for its existing farmers markets. [Robert’s Market Report]
