If you’ve enjoyed the recent spate of chefs collaborations at area restaurants like Meme’s recent Pig Dinner and Zahav’s Greetings From Down the Shore, you’re in luck, because there are likely more on the way, according to Phillymag. In its August issue, the magazine reports on the group efforts and what makes them so popular. Meme chef-owner David Katz, who’s credited with jump staring the trend, chalks it all up to a growing sense of cohesion amongst his contemporaries as the city’s restaurant scene as whole strengthens and expands. Zahav’s Michael Solomonov sees collaborations as a way of exceeding customers’ expectations and giving them a taste of something that’s out of the ordinary. Katz is reportedly planning another collaborative pig dinner to take place sometime after the busy fall restaurant season. [Phillymag]
