At four p.m. today, according to C.W. Nevius, long suffering (and not exactly permitted) sandwich shop Ike’s Place will take was supposed to take its last sandwich order at its Castro location. But as Vegansaurus writes, owner Ike Shehadeh just stepped out to tell the assembled, hungry mourners that he’s received yet another reprieve on a technicality. “We’re not closing!” he shouted triumphantly. The landlord apparently evicted the wrong entity in his documents, Ike and his mom, instead of the corporation named Ike’s Place. He’ll have to return to court to sort this out, but obviously will still face eviction.

Regardless of how this plays out, we expect Shehadeh to suck it up and relocate in the city within months. But for now, vegan Peg Bundys for all!
