The Salad Bowl, which is sort of like the Subway of salads, soft-opened last Thursday on Canon in Beverly Hills. This is the first California location of the Texas-based chain, something that earned the healthy fast food empire a mention from Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who mentioned the owner’s permit struggles in his weekly address. The concept here is simple: Salad Bowl is healthy fast food featuring design-it-yourself salads with 50 toppings available. You get eight toppings for $7.95 and twelve for $9.95, while soups, baked potatoes, and signature salad recipes are also on hand. According to the Governator himself, this location will set the stage for 20 more Salad Bowls spreading throughout “Cah-li-foar-nyah” in the near future. Until then, find it at Canon and Brighton, view the menu online, and check out our slide show of the cute space.
