Cloud Hookah Lounge popped up on Sunset Blvd. in Silver Lake last week, coming in right next to TantraZ. Cloud has one other location already, adjacent to the owners’ Woodland Hills Indian restaurant Haldi Root. Currently, only a wee cloud marks the facade, but a Facebook page announces that some D.J.-heavy events are already underway here. Open from 8:00 P.M. to 2:00 A.M., beers are priced at three bucks and well-drinks at five, while Hookahs cost $15 to start, with six dollar refills. Facebook comments display a demographic aggressively believing this to be “extra dope” and the “HOTTEST HOOKAH LOUNGE IN LA DAMN RIGHT!” So one gets the sense that the crowd isn’t collecting to discuss spiritual texts over their hookahs, so much as the latest episode of Jersey Shore.
