Umami opens in Brookline this week, reports UrbanDaddy. The focus here is on Japanese fusion fare: think grilled skirt steak with ginger stewed honeycomb tripe, charred heirloom tomatoes and taro garlic mash, or elk chops with ginger, rosemary, and Asian greens. Prices are pretty good, with appetizers topping out at $9 and entrees at $20. A nice selection of sakes and cocktails compliments the food. Umami will be located at 1704 Beacon Street, right in the middle of Washington Square.
