The Boiler Room opened up promptly last night at 7 p.m., and by 7:30 the line stretched out the door and down the sidewalk. A bouncer was placed out front to stand guard by the door, where he helped control the crowds which still stood around when we walked by around 10 p.m. They were all there to sample this new spot’s take on pizza and cocktails. We were able to squeeze in before the crowds got thick to take a look at the playful design and, of course, all the new food.

As we mentioned yesterday, the design uses a lot of travel paraphernalia. And the men’s bathroom is modeled after an L car. The pizza oven is up front, with the bar in the back left corner. The whole right side is filled with long tables and booths, and there is a huge patio in the back.

They were only serving a limited menu last night, but you can take a look at what the full menu will look like here. It should be ready for the weekend. Just prepare for the lines.
