While his hometown patiently awaits progress on a myriad of hyped projects, like Il Pittore, the Broad Street Diner and an unnamed gastropub that he may or may not be opening with Ken Friedman, Stephen Starr is moving ahead on a Japanese restaurant in the Miami suburbs, according to Miami New Times. The unnamed restaurant is expected to open next year at the Bal Harbour Shops, the colossal and obsessively chic open-air mall in Bal Harbour, a well heeled Miami suburb. This will be Starr’s second venture in the Sunshine State. Last year he opened Steak 954 in Fort Lauderdale’s W Hotel. Gilles & Boissier, the French design team that created Steak 954, are reportedly on board for the Bal Harbour project. [Miami New Times]
