Il Pittore will occupy the former Ansill space

Chris Painter, the chef Grub Street mentioned a few weeks ago had stepped up from culinary director for Starr restaurants to partner in the forthcoming Il Pittore, is looking at a November opening in the former Ansill space at Third and Bainbridge streets, according to Meal Ticket. Painter, who is off on another culinary expedition in Rome, reportedly will serve a menu full of dishes that will emphasize Northern Italian-style pastas, like tagliatelle and pappardelle. Like its forerunner Angelina, Starr’s defunct Italian restaurant that Painter headed, all the pastas will be made in house. [Meal Ticket]
