Back in May, David Flanagan told us that he was looking for someone seasoned to oversee the menu at the unnamed Davis Square brasserie he’s opening with Ken Kelly this fall. My, what a difference two months makes! The spot now has a name, Foundry on Elm, and a chef, Sam Putnam, reports Dishing. Putnam was most recently in the kitchen at Ashmont Grill and, though not much is known about his Foundry menu yet, it will focus on local ingredients and feature a raw bar.
Perhaps the most exciting news about Foundry on Elm, however, is the mixologist: Andy Kilgore, formerly of No. 9 Park and Stoddard’s. Kilgore’s cocktails will be supplemented by 32 beers on tap, 20 by the bottle, and a 60 bottle strong wine list. Foundry on Elm is slated to open in September.
