A heart-healthy concept called Fit-Food is coming to Santa Monica Blvd. in West Hollywood. The plan here is fresh and healthy food for those on-the-go, as developed by two, well, very developed CEOs, seen on a website looking all tan and buff, and in one case, nearly shirtless. The menu is the creation of Cuban-born executive chef Joey Santos, who opened Hollywood’s El Mocambo in the nineties, and more recently made appearances on Janice Dickinson’s Modeling Agency. And what’s Santos prepared for Fit-Food?
Dishes include turkey and chicken takes on burgers and meatballs, health shakes, paninis, grain and vegetable salads, as well as wasabi guacamole and a dip into satays and Vietnamese spring rolls. Fit-Food offers a full nutritional breakdown online, revealing mostly low-fat and protein-rich dishes. The storefront is opening this August on Santa Monica Blvd. both for dining-in and taking-out.
