If we trust Andrew Knowlton, Bon Appetit’s dreamy restaurant editor and occasional Iron Chef America judge, America’s boozy fixation with pre-Prohibition cocktails isn’t going to fade anytime soon. In the magazine’s August issue, Knowlton puts forth the “Top 10 Best New Cocktail Bars,” which suggests tipplers in at least 10 U.S. cities continue to thirst for throwback cocktails, shaken up by mustachioed mixologists dressed in old-timey garb. San Franciso’s tiki-obsessed Smuggler’s Cove tops the roundup, while Boston’s Drink, New York’s Bar Pleiades and Philadelphia’s Franklin Mortgage & Investment Co. round out the list. [Bon Appetit]
