Providence-based Blue State Coffee is coming to Boston. The mini-chain, which currently has four locations across New England, bills itself in its Craiglist hiring post as “an independently owned coffee shop focused on serving organic, fairly traded coffee, donating a portion of all sales to causes that reflect our democratic values and uniting a community of people supporting change locally and nationally.” To that end, part of the proceeds from the coffee (which has names like Liberty Blend and True Blue Blend) go to organizations like People For The American Way and Stop Global Warming. While there’s no official word yet as to the specific location within Boston, it’s worth noting that the current locations are all near Brown or Yale.
