Bistro Clovis Closes After Over 20 Years

Longtime tenant of mid-Market Bistro Clovis, just a couple blocks down from Zuni Café, has given up the ghost, as Tasting Table reports in their newsletter. The old-school bistro was light on frills and heavy on the cream, and had certainly been less than busy in recent years — the only time we ate there was once when we couldn’t get a table at Zuni. As a eulogy of sorts, the Scoop looks back at this 1990 Chron review from Stan Stesser, which notes in particular the sweetbreads in red vinegar butter.
