We were thrilled to hear that Art Smith was getting married to his long time partner Jesus Salguerio in Washington, D.C. in the fall. While no guests have been absolutely confirmed, invitations apparently went out to Oprah Winfrey, the Obamas, the Bidens, Jessica Simpson, and George W. Bush (!!). Talk about a fun wedding table. “This is probably the most visible gay wedding of the year,” Smith told the Post. To make it extra special, Smith has sent out fliers to PR firms hoping for “commercial underwriting.” PR firms are being asked to give what amounts to party favors for the event. $2,500 will get you the “privilege” of donating 350 items for gift bags, while $20,000 and 350 products snags you four tickets to the event. Part of the proceeds will go to Common Threads, the charity he has tirelessly promoted. But it still seems a little off. “I want to show America that you can live better, and support children.
