Philippe Chow Goes Half-Steam Ahead This Summer

As we feel the heat rolling in, “steam” and “summer” don’t really sound like two words that will bring us comfort by coming together. Philippe Chow is nonetheless rolling out a new menu of steamed dishes in an effort to watch your figure for you. Designed as lighter versions of Chow’s typical dishes, the new menu starts with a platter of six steamed dumplings and also offers veggies with tofu for the truly hardcore, but mostly sticks to steamed seafood, serving a whole fish-of-the-day and Chilean seabass, as well as a two-to-three pound Maine lobster. Sounds simple and safe, but could it ever lure us away from WP24’s succulent squares of suckling pig or tender Kobe beef cheeks?
