What to Eat at Spice Kit, Open Now in SoMa

Downtown workers have a new lunch option in the form of báhn mì and ssäm at Spice Kit, which opened yesterday at 405 Howard Street. The new takeout eatery, which the Scoop first alerted us to a couple weeks back, is headed up by two alums of the French Laundry and the Ritz, respectively, Will Pacio and Fred Tang. They’re using all organic and naturally raised meat and produce for their “chef-driven Asian street food.” Check out the full set of offerings below.

SPICE KIT

Bánh mì
The classic Vietnamese sandwich
Toasted baguette, pickled carrots and daikon radish, cucumbers, jalapeño
peppers, mayo, meat/tofu, and cilantro.
(Add our house-made Pâté for .75)

Ssäm
The Korean wrap
Rice paper, red leaf lettuce, cucumbers, seasoned rice, marinated bean
sprouts, meat/tofu, kimchi, and our signature ssäm sauce.

Salad
Organic lettuces, cucumber, radish, jicama, mango, spicy peanuts, your
choice of meat/tofu and our sesame vinaigrette.
