The public farewell to the outgoing House of Shields crew is tonight, and it seems fairly likely that after the place reopens under the helm of chef Dennis Leary (Canteen, Sentinel), it will be a more food-focused experience and perhaps not the same raucous after-work watering hole it’s been for many years. The place will stay open as usual until July 26th, but what happens thereafter remains a little uncertain. Leary had promised a respectful makeover for the 100-year-old space, but we’re sure some of its fans will still be unhappy about any sort of change.
