SF Chefs to Kick Off a Month of Gorging With a Lamb Jam

Not to be outdone by the pig farmers of America — who enjoy the free publicity of Pigs & Pinot, Cochon 555, not to mention a million and one bacon-inflected dishes from coast to coast — The American Lamb Board and the California Lamb Producers are hosting the first annual Lamb Jam on July 18 at Fort Mason. The event is a teaser for SF Chefs, the big foodievent that peaks August 9 to 15, and which the lamb people are sponsoring this year.

It sounds like it’s going to be a pretty grand affair, with a $50 admission fee that gets you lamb tastings and wine for three hours on a summer Sunday afternoon.
