Though we’re still going to be here sweating out the summer in Chicago, it looks like two restaurants are taking a little break. Feast reports that Avenues in the Peninsula will take off the first two weeks in July, while Sepia will close from July 1 through July 8. This is an annual event for Avenues, but the Sepia’s break was a little more unusual, especially since they were being all coy on their Facebook page, “Officially, we are closed for the summer holidays…but it is possible that before July 9th, we may be allowed to share why we were really closed that long….it’s all good here!” That good news turns out to be that Ron Howard will shoot a scene in the restaurant. The movie stars Vince Vaughn, and has been filming at some local landmarks all summer. [Chicago Magzine]
