Rick Tramonto has been sending out some odd tweets for the past few weeks, and now we know why. He is leaving Tru, the restaurant he helped found with Gale Gand over ten years ago. All he announced on Twitter was that he was leaving and that further details will come. He will be replaced by Anthony Martin, who has been with the restaurant since 2008. Over on Tramonto’s Facebook page, he gives a few more details, which have been confirmed over e-mail, saying that he plans to have a press conference after July 4 to describe more of the details. By the sound of it, he may be leaving Chicago, too. Check out the full Facebook Post:
Thank you all so much for your tremendous support of my culinary career here in Chicago over the past 23 years.
As you may know, I am moving on from TRU to a new and exciting journey. There will be a press conference sometime after the 4th of July to fill in all of the details on the when and where.
I will always love this city and the people in it. Stay Tuned God Bless
