Answering that age-old question, “How long does it take to turn a burlesque bar into a Mexican restaurant?” a second location of Pequeña opens tomorrow in Prospect Heights. After a yearlong delay owing to various mishaps — including a Landmarks Department violation for a contemporary fan in a designated historic neighborhood — the repurposed Barrette space will open its doors at 5 p.m. tomorrow featuring a menu similar to the original Fort Greene location’s. A manager tells Grub Street to anticipate “about twenty seats, maybe more” of sidewalk seating although he’s “waiting on one more permit” — the one that will let you tip back those margs outdoors. Since the kitchen is a touch bigger than its sibling, he “hopes to expand the menu” down the line.
