As a big thank you for a great first year in business, Sam Mink, owner of Center City’s Oyster House took 18 of his staff members fishing yesterday off Barnegat Light. Over the course of the seven-hour trip, which took them 20 miles out to sea on the Miss Barnegat Light, Mink and his staff caught upwards of 75 pounds of bluefish, 45 of which will be available at the restaurant starting tonight - the remainder went home with cooks and staff. “It’s so fresh, its only been out the water for 24 hours,” General Manager Daniel Elliott told Grub Street. “With so much fish our chef was sort of shocked and psyched at the same time.”

For tonight’s bluefish specials, Oyster House chef Ted Manko has cured some of the smaller filets for a bluefish salad and will also serve smoked bluefish with tatzke, and grilled bluefish filets for entrees.
