At the vacant former North Beach Pizza branch that closed three years back at 1310 Grant Avenue, Grub Street finds today that a new taqueria with an Italian-sounding name, Nico’s Tacos, is moving in. The item is on the Planning Commission’s consent calendar and is almost guaranteed to go through. All we know is that it will be a full-service restaurant, whatever that means in a mere 1,000 square feet. Look for this place to open by late summer, or sooner if they’re not chasing a liquor license.
