Little Tokyo has a new fast-casual eating option and bar called Izakaya Fu-Ga that opened yesterday on San Pedro at First Street. The restaurant will only serve dinner until next Monday when lunch service begins. The dinner menu, visible online, shows traditional Japanese bar eats and frequent twists like bacon wrapped scallops, a Cajun stir-fry, beef plates, udon, and a plate of linguica, Kurobuta, and brat sausage. There’s also the less promising assortment of sushi rolls priced between five and ten dollars. And for lunch?

Lunch will go more familiar and a little cheaper, with sushi and entree combinations for ten bucks, alongside rib-eye steak and shrimp tempura sandwiches. A late-night menu will also be served from 10:00 P.,M. to 2:00 A.M. with breaded Brie, beer battered tempura onion rings, and edamame with sea salt. The bar comes stocked with some lesser-known tap beers, as well as the requisite sakes, sochus, and fruit juice.

Izakaya Fu-Ga is now open for dinner at 111 S. San Pedro St. Downtown. 213-625-1722 and can be followed on Twitter.
