Community Board 3 heard the neighborhood hubbub and last night rejected Italian mini-mogul Frank Prisinzano’s bid to open a 160-plus-seat “fast-food Italian” joint at 150 East 2nd Street. The decision was not even close, reports EV Grieve: “28 board members were against; 11 for and one person abstained.” It’s hard to tell whether the neighbors turned on Prisinzano simply because they detest his other establishments, or if anyone who applied for a liquor license in that spot was destined for the same reaction. Good luck to whoever next tries to open a bar or restaurant on 2nd Street and Avenue A.
