East Boat Lobster Restaurant Heads South, Prices Go North

The new incarnation of B.B.Q. Express isn’t the only news coming out of Chinatown: Around the corner, we noticed that a new eatery has replaced Pho So 1 in the basement of 11 Mott Street. About a week ago, Kenmare Street holdover East Boat Lobster Restaurant moved here and it’s now simply Lobster Boat Restaurant.

The menu is pretty much the same as the old one on MenuPages, except prices have been raised anywhere from 25 cents to $2, and the lunch special for one (which features two seafood options and rice or spaghetti) has gone up from $15.95 to $18.95 and is now $24.95 to $32.95. The really sad part: The place is not nearly as kitschy as East Boat was — the giant illuminated lobster that graced the back wall was nowhere to be found.
