Billy’s Bakery Sells Dollar Cupcakes; Pizza Roma Comes to the West Village

Clinton Hill: Hanson Dry, a bar, opens this summer at 925 Fulton Street between Waverly and Clinton Avenues. The bar will offer local beers on tap and have an outdoor space. [Brownstoner]

Long Island City: The Cheese Monger Invitational will take place on June 26 at Larkin Cold Storage. Nine regional cheese shops (including Murray’s and Bedford Cheese Shop) will compete in six cheese challenges, such as wrapping and beer pairing. West Village: The James Beard Foundation holds its second annual Gay Soirée on Saturday, June 26 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The walk-around tasting and cocktail party will celebrate NYC Pride and feature chefs and mixologists, including Julian Alonzo (Brasserie 8 1/2), Daniel Holzman, and Michael Chernow (the Meatball Shop), Mark Israel (Doughnut Plant), Jansen Chan (Oceana), and Tad Carducci and Paul Tanguay (Tippling Bros), among others.
