Blackboard Eats, a New Restaurant Deal Tracker, Launches In S.F.

Already a hit in New York and L.A., Blackboard Eats just launched in San Francisco today offering exclusive discount deals at restaurants twice weekly. Today’s deal, which you’ve got a few more hours to claim, is 30% off at SPQR, redeemable at brunch or dinner for parties up to four people. The site also offers a “side dish” of non-exclusive deals, like a $10 dinner at Chop Bar in Oakland.

Blackboard Eats is a subscription service, and when you get word from them about a new deal you’ve got 24 hours to sign in and get a passcode. Once you’ve got the passcode, you have 30 days to use it, and you give it to the host when you arrive at the restaurant.

They’re quick to remind you, though, lest you try to be truly cheap, that no matter how deep the discount you should still be tipping on the full price of your bill, pre-discount.

The minute we see 75% off at Spruce, we’re so there.
