While restaurants like Grahamwich and the Girl and the Goat keep getting delayed, bakeries and dessert shops continue opening at a fever pitch. Black Dog Gelato has been selling to Sepia and Uncommon Ground, along with various little food shops like Provenance Food and Wine for a while now. But its first neighborhood shop will open tomorrow at noon in the Ukrainian Village. Though a lot of places around the city are starting to serve gelato, the shop happens to be run by Jessie Oloroso, who used to work for Stephanie Izard at Scylla. We expect grand things. If the weather tomorrow is anything like today, then gelato will definitely be in order. [Sun-Times]
