While the rumor has been floating around for the last couple days, Grub Street has confirmed that Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern is indeed in the area exploring local edible oddities. A tipster working closely with cast and crew told us that the show shot at John’s Roast Pork, George’s Sandwich Shop (we bet they went for the tripe sandwich) and Los Taquitos De Puebla (where David Ansill nearly blew chunks watching Craig LaBan eat eyeball tacos) in South Philly yesterday. Today Zimmern reportedly spent the morning at Morimoto, followed by Tai Lake Restaurant in Chinatown and will end the day at Czerw’s Kielbasy in Port Richmond. For the remainder of the week, the show will travel deeper into the Pennsyltucky wilderness to get a look at the making of scrapple and other traditional Pennsylvania Dutch dishes. They will return to Philly on Sunday to shoot Famous 4th Street Deli. The episode will likely air in the fall.
