Anisette is celebrating its second birthday with a lot of news. For the next two weeks, the Santa Monica brasserie has a special a la carte menu of specialties from Provence as part of its regular, regional French culinary tours that started during its first birthday. Expect bouillabaisse, fruits confits, and lamb among the plates through June 19th. Similarly, plats du jour are back at the restaurant, with duck l’orange and lobster thermidor on Mondays and Thursdays respectively. But what is the restaurant giving to O.C. for its second birthday?

An Anisette rep informs us that Alain Giraud’s restaurant is set to have a twin in Irvine, due before the end of 2010. The project will be a collaboration with developers at The Irvine Company, which means it could be landing at a property like Irvine Spectrum Center or The Market Place. So O.C. might have lost a Drago, but at least it’s gaining an Anisette. We’ll keep you up-to-date as the new location takes shape.
