Amberjack Sushi Is for Sale

Anyone in the market for a sushi restaurant? Amberjack Sushi, the well liked and affordable Noe Valley establishment from chef-owner Stewart Chen, is for sale. Grub Street finds the listing for the ten-year-old business at 27th and Church featuring some identifying photos but no asking price. Reportedly Chen, who recently shuttered Skipjack Sushi in Cow Hollow but also owns a second Amberjack location in Mill Valley and co-owns Umi, is looking to retire.

Along with the price of the business comes the lease, the name, and the brand identity, so it would seem the Mill Valley Amberjack could be on offer as well.

Grub Street contacted an employee at Umi who confirmed that Chen remains chef and co-owner there, along with partners Russell Richardson and Shamus Booth, so it would seem that the part about him retiring may be inaccurate.
