We’re very late to this story, but it’d be wrong if we didn’t at least mention the passing of Edna Stewart last weekend. Edna’s Restaurant in East Garfield Park is legendary for both its soul food (Steve Dolinksy loves the biscuits) and for its role in the Civil Rights Movement (Martin Luther King Jr. and Jesse Jackson were frequent guests in the 60s). Nothing seems quite right to say, so we’ll steer you over to David Tamarkin’s warm tribute over at Time Out Chicago. [TOC]
