Where to Eat on Martha’s Vineyard This Summer

The summer is almost upon us and soon, Bostonians will begin leaving our fair city for points more oceanic: Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, the Cape. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be rounding up the new restaurants in each destination. Today, we’ll take a look at Martha’s Vineyard.

Blue Canoe Waterfront Grill recently opened in Vineyard Haven. The restaurant offers classic American fare, including a hefty selection of salads and sandwiches. [Cape Cod Travel Guide]

• The Chilmark Tavern is under new ownership. Louise and Paul Petersiel own Swampscott’s insanely popular Red Rock Bistro, and out on the Vineyard, they’re doing a BYOB happy hour, takeaway marinated steaks, and Sunday brunch. [Martha’s Vineyard Times]

• Meanwhile, the town of Tisbury voted last month to allow restaurants to serve beer and wine, a move that could have far-reaching implications for the town’s restaurant scene. [Martha’s Vineyard Times]
