What to Eat at Pica Pica Maize Kitchen, Now Open in the Mission

Pica Pica Maize Kitchen, which opened its first location at Oxbow Public Market in Napa a few years back, has taken over the the former Mi Lindo Yucatan space at 15th and Valencia and officially opened on Saturday. Their generously large and filling Venezuelan arepas and signature “maize’wiches” are almost enough for two meals, and certainly would make for a good dinner. Below, the full menu, which also includes empanadas, house-made sangria and six special sauces.

Pepeada: chicken salad with Guasacaca (creamy avocado)
Pelu’a: shredded skirt steak with cheddar cheese
Pebellon: shredded skirt steak, sweet plantains, black beans, cheese
La Vegetariana: tofu, avocado, sweet plantains, black beans, spicy sauce
La Shuli: black beans, seasoned tomatoes, onions, cilantro, Guasaca on the side
Catira: sautéed chicken in our signature sofrito, cheddar cheese
Pernil: pulled pork, sliced tomatoes, avocado, aioli
Chorizo: chorizo, cheddar cheese, diced tomatoes
Clasica: ham & cheese
Perico: Venezuelan style scrambled eggs, onions, diced tomatoes. Add cheese or chorizo.

With purchase of any of the above, add a small soup, pasapalo, or salad for $3.25
