New Executive Chef Derek Simcik Brings the ‘Biggie-Shorty’ to the Atwood Café

Derek Simicik is the new executive chef of the Atwood Café. Simicik was born in Greece, trained in Vienna, and started his culinary career in Washington D.C where he was most recently the chef de cuisine at Jackson 20. The new menu features a strange combination of your usual business-approved lunch salads, along with some real gut busters, including duck with duck confit, chicken and pork sausage with lentils and a poached egg, and a pulled pork sandwich called the “Biggie-Shorty.” Someone let us know how this thing tastes, please.
