Tommy Doyle’s Turns ‘Crimson’

The Harvard Square Tommy Doyle’s will soon spawn the subterranean Crimson Lounge, reports UrbanDaddy. The bar is meant to be a slightly more grown up alternative to the ‘hood’s ultracollegiate spots like Redline and Grendel’s Den.

To that end, the cocktails are upscale (albeit named after songs in a nod to the space’s past incarnation as the original House of Blues), with hardly a flavored vodka among them, and the well-curated list of dishes is a touch more sophisticated than the pub grub upstairs: think pan-seared scallops topped with an apple cider reduction. The Crimson Lounge will be open from 5 p.m. nightly, beginning on June 1.
