Char No. 4: so pretty!

Restaurants from New York and L.A. dominated yesterday’s list of finalists for the American Institutes of Architects/Los Angeles’s annual restaurant-design awards. Char No. 4 and Choice in Brooklyn, and Gjelina and South Beverly Grill in L.A. are all nominated for restaurant design. The two cities make up the bulk of the categories honoring café design and bar/lounge design as well, though there’s one wild card from Colorado among the cafés, and San Francisco’s Press Club makes an appearance among the bars.
